Astrid Poot new ambassador Maker Days Eindhoven

Eindhoven – It is with great enthusiasm that Maker Days Eindhoven announces that Astrid Poot, maker, thinker and activist, is joining the event as a new ambassador. Astrid Poot is known for her work at the intersection of creativity, ethics and making education. With her distinct vision on the role of making in our society, she reinforces Maker Days Eindhoven’s mission to bring together and celebrate technology, innovation and creativity.

Makers make makers

Astrid Poot is active as a designer, writer and philosopher. She develops projects for families, schools, museums and companies, in which making is central as a source of autonomy and strength. Through initiatives such as Lekkersamenklooien and her practical philosophy around “making well”, she shows how making education and creativity contribute to a strong and resilient society.

‘We are extremely proud to welcome Astrid as an ambassador of Maker Days Eindhoven,’ said René Paré, director of Maker Days. ‘Her enthusiasm and expertise in the field of making and ethics fit perfectly with the values of Maker Days. Astrid demonstrates that making is not only about technique, but above all about meaning, connection and imagination.’

Powerful voice for makers and doers

In addition to her design and writing work, Poot regularly speaks at conferences and publishes on topics such as practical ethics, neurodiversity and the value of creativity. With projects such as Boring Objects, she explores how everyday things can provide comfort and inspiration.

As an ambassador, Poot will help inspire, connect and challenge Maker Days. She will use her network and knowledge to reach new generations of makers and to show that everyone has the power of making within them.

Maker Days Eindhoven looks forward to working with Astrid to shape the upcoming edition and make the value of creativity and making visible again to a wide audience.

Maker Days Eindhoven will take place on Saturday, September 27 and Sunday, September 28 at Stadhuisplein and Stadhuis in Eindhoven.
