Computational Craftsmanship
Under the title Computational Craftsmanship, I present Laser Cyanotype Harmonograms and my home-built Harmonograph. Mathematical movements are translated with light into deep blue relics, where craft, technology and poetry meet.
Ralf Jacobs
Ralf Jacobs is an artist and engineer from Eindhoven, the Netherlands, who weaves mathematics, technology and craft into poetic objects. He explores systems such as oscillators, patterns and field lines and translates them into tangible relics through textiles, cyanotype and ceramics. His work, which he calls Computational Craftsmanship, shows how science and imagination intersect in forms that are both exact and emotionally charged.
