Early Warning Scan for breast cancer
The Early Warning Scan is a new method for early detection of breast cancer. Rewarded with the "Best Innovation Award" at the Maker Fair 2022. The technique is still in an experimental stage, but the first tests with volunteers have already taken place in cooperation with Fontys Hogeschool Eindhoven and the YvYa foundation. At these Maker Days, the latest version can be seen working. The Early Warning Scan is a unique citizen science project.
EarlyWarningScan
Originally conceived and developed by Tom Sanders following his wife's breast cancer trial. Further development has since been taken up by a group of 12 experts who all contribute on a voluntary basis. The project has been housed in its own startup since late 2022 and is set up as a not-for-profit social enterprise. They are advised by a medical and a scientific advisory board. Funding is done with sponsorships and donations, raised by the YvYa foundation (ANBI/CBF).
