Anouk Wipprecht
Strangely ahead of her time; Anouk combines the latest science and technology to make fashion an experience that transcends appearances. Sensors embedded in the design monitor the space around the wearer, and body sensors register stress levels such as comfort or anxiety. Her Intel-Edison-based "Spider Dress" is a perfect example of this aesthetic, with sensors and movable arms on the dress helping to create a more defined boundary of personal space while maintaining a fierce style. "This robot dress attacks if you get too close," she says. Tailoring facilitates and enhances the interactions we have with ourselves and our surroundings. In addition to wearable devices, Wipprecht explores how we can interact with the world around us in new ways through our wardrobe.
