From Waste to Wonder Workshops
From Waste to Wonder is an interactive, hands-on workshop in which children transform bio-waste, such as coffee grounds, potato starch and casein, into biodegradable and compostable toys. By participating in a creative design process, participants develop environmental awareness, circular thinking and problem-solving skills, making sustainability accessible, educational and fun for the next generation.
Jamie van Duuren Design - From Waste to Wonder Workshops
I'm Jamie, a product designer with a passion for sustainability and social impact. Specializing in bio-design and alternative materials, I explore eco-friendly solutions through hands-on experimentation and creative processes. With a curious and practical approach, I continuously explore new materials and innovative design techniques. My work ranges from furniture and board games to educational workshops that raise awareness about environmental issues and circularity. During my bachelor's studies in Switzerland, I gained experience in user research, prototyping, and material development. My master's at the Design Academy Eindhoven deepened my focus on sustainability and led to the project From Waste to Wonder: a workshop where children create compostable toys from recycled bio-waste. I aim to inspire younger generations to contribute to positive change through creative and environmentally conscious design.
