Translucent Fashion Tech
ZeSix outfits made of carefully selected and prepared materials where translucent light creates unexpected expression. Through the use of sensors, the outfits react to the audience. The special materials are hand-woven fabrics, prepared plane tree leaves (with the collaboration of Lama Aldayoub, Eindhoven), and knitwear (with the collaboration of Loe Feijs, Eindhoven). Beam Contrechoc works at the Fashion Tech Farm in Eindhoven with other makers, including Marina Toeters, Lama Aldayoub, Tilman Rothermel, and others. He is interested in the combination of modern electronics and ancient techniques. For instance, he has made a weight loom from branches found in Strijp, just as it has been used for 10,000 years. Fabrics from this loom are combined with today's electronics.
